What is "Induction"?
Induction technology is a fluorescent lamp without electrodes. In this advanced technology the lamp relies on a magnetic induction to ignite the phosphors rather than electrodes (electrodes are the components which burn out in a linear lamp resulting in frequent replacement). Since these lamps do not have any components which can burn out the induction lamps are rated at 100,000 hours, or 5 times longer than some HID or Linear Fluorescent technology.

Are they efficient?
Typically a 250w Induction lamp can be compared to a new 400w Metal Halide from a light output standpoint however the 250w Induction fixture pulls 265 watts where as the 400w HID pulls approximate 454 watts.

Why choose Induction Technology?
  • Longer lamp life means less maintenance in hard-to-reach areas.
  • Environmentally friendly because they  use less energy, and use less mercury per hour of operation than conventional lighting due to their long lifespan
  • Unlike HID, Induction lamps offer an "Instant On"
  • Minimal Lumen depreciation (declining light output with age) compared to other lamp types as filament evaporation and depletion is absent

FACILITY STATISTICS
In this warehouse our client experienced poor color rendering, dark shadows and high energy costs. TRC reduced this client's energy consumption by replacing the existing High Pressure Sodium High Bay fixtures with energy efficient 6 Lamp T8 High Bay Fixtures, that consume only 220 watts each.
