The Retrofit Companies, an industry leader in efficient lighting design & recycling, seeks an ambitious Outside Sales Executive to join our thriving organization. The Outside Sales Executive will be responsible for contacting, qualifying, and closing new business for our customized lighting design & implementation division. Those with successful sales history will be fully autonomous in how they reach their goals and will have the benefit of our stellar reputation in the industry. The right candidate will have 2 years of sales experience, a strong business acumen, and is willing to make the calls necessary to generate new business. This position reports to the Sales Manager.

Experience in the lighting industry is beneficial but not required; we are willing to train self-motivated salespeople on the nuances of our business. The ideal candidate has a competitive nature, possesses excellent communication skills, and is technologically savvy. Duties and Responsibilities for the Sales Executive:

  • Generate profitable revenue growth by seeking out new business and new customers.

  • Prospect and qualify new prospects via outside sales effort, through cold-calling.

  • Generate leads and prospects for new business through cold calling over the phone, in person, through email, referrals, trade shows, networking, and some meetings.

  • Prospect target industries and markets within a given territory.

  • Introduce prospective customers to TRC’s Customized Energy-efficient Lighting Solutions.

  • Offer solutions and solve problems for client’s energy conservation, maintenance, and lighting quality needs.

  • Utilize and maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database for increased overall company-wide efficiency.

  • Communicate and collaborate with sales, design team and management to ensure the “delivery of goods sold” and to exceed sales expectations/production.

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline.

Requirements for the Sales Executive:

  • 2 years successful B2B Sales experience required.

  • Experience should include cold-calling Executive level business contacts as well as commercial and industrial prospects over the phone and/or in person, and account management.

  • Experience in the lighting industry is beneficial.

  • High school degree required, some college is beneficial

  • Ability for local travel and occasional overnight travel.

  • Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Excel, Office 365.

  • Comfortable working in an office setting or on your own in remote location.
